BlueChip
Connective Tissue Massage (CTM)
Positional Release technique (PRT)
This weekend workshop provides an overview of the essential skills of CTM and PRT.
This workshop is ISRM-accredited, approved by the CThA and the FHT, and provides 14 hours of CPD training.
Day 1: focuses on PRT
In this workshop we will teach the subtle yet extraordinarily powerful technique known as positional release. With this technique there is not necessarily a need for pre-warming so it is a quick and effective muscle release mechanism. It is very effective on whiplash and other similar soft-tissue injuries. In some cases there is no need for a couch, and no requirement for towels or lotion, so it is very versatile. With some muscles it is possible to self treat.
Day 2: focuses on CTM
In this workshop we are considering the fascia i.e. connective tissue as the focus of the treatment.
We will teach you how to work on the superficial connective tissue layers as well as demonstrating techniques useful for manipulating the deeper myofascial layers.
You will learn to understand that CTM treatment can effect changes over large areas of the body. We look at the concept of lines of fascia along the body and what happens when it becomes tight and how to release it.
